[edit] The Rapetastic Parking Garage at the Prudential
The parking garage at the Prudential is very convenient but also very expensive with an unvalidated ticket:
| 0 to .5 Hour | $6.00 |
| .5 to 1 Hour | $9.00 |
| 1 to 1.5 Hours | $17.00 |
| 1.5 to 2 Hours | $24.00 |
| 2 to 10 Hours | $30.00 |
| 10 to 24 Hours | $38.00 |
Who the hell would pay that kind of crazy money? Luckily, the Prudential has a parking validation setup; if you get your parking ticket validated at any vendor at the Pru, you spend a lot less: $9 for 3 hours or $15 for 3-6. You see how this works out. Therefore we cannot stress enough: Bring your parking ticket with you to get validated in the Food Court.
If you are looking to save a few more bucks, it can be more economical to park at a garage on the outskirts of the city and take the subway to the Pru. There are parking garages owned by the T at Riverside (great for people coming from the south or via 128), Wonderland (good for people coming from the north shore), and Wellington (again, great if you are coming from the north), and Alewife (good for people coming in from the west via Route 2).
[edit] Via the T
MBTA Green Line: Prudential Station on Huntington Avenue (E train only). Copley Station on Boylston Street at Dartmouth Street. Hynes/ICA Station on Newbury Street at Mass Ave. MBTA Orange Line: Back Bay Station. MBTA Commuter Rail: Back Bay Station
Via Commuter Rail South Of Boston: If you don't want to deal with driving in Boston traffic you can grab a commuter rail and take that into South Station. From South Station you can take the red line subway to the Park Street station. From there you can transfer to the green line E branch subway. This will take you to the Prudential Center station. Prices for the commuter rail vary slightly based on what zone your station is in. The South Attleboro Station the fare was $11.00 round trip. The subway fare is $1.25. The transfer from the red line to the green line is free. Check with MBTA for details about schedule and fare information.
Alternativly you can get off the commuter train at the Back bay Station and walk up the street about 2 blocks to the Copley Station. and take the green line E branch subway and get off at the first stop (Prudential Center)
[edit] Food Court Eateries
Love 'em or hate 'em, Hackers sure do like their food. In fact, one of the motivating factors for getting out from behind their screens is often the prospect of a good meal. The Prudential Food Court has a variety of take-out places to choose from, including:
- Ben and Jerry's
- Boston Chowda
- Flamers
- Gourmet India
- Panda Express
- Paradise Bakery Cafe
- Pizzeria Regina
- Poulet
- Qdoba Mexican Grill
- Sakkio Japan
As mentioned above, you need to buy something to get a parking ticket validated, and that can save you nearly 20 bucks or more on parking, so just buying a crappy slice at Pizzeria Regina or a drink elsewhere has its advantages.
