[edit] Boston 2600 Meetings

Held in affiliation with 2600 Magazine, 2600 meetings are held the first Friday of each month at 7pm. The location of the 2600 Meeting for Boston is in the happen the 1st Friday of every month at MIT in the Stratton Student Center.

[edit] History of the Meetings

Boston 2600 meetings were originally held in Cambridge, MA, in Harvard Square, in the patio of the Au Bon Pain cafe. Weather and other considerations changed the venue to the Prudential Center, and then later to MIT.

2600 meetings in general began in the Citicorp center in downtown New York City, where 2600 Magazine is published; they began in 1984. Over time, 2600 has encouraged an affiliate program where meetings are being held all around the country. 2600 keeps A list of meetings current to know where they are around the country.

Bear in mind that in some locations, people who do not want to meet at 5pm on Fridays are meeting at other times, occasionally signing out library or auditorium space, holding talks, and otherwise considering themselves "2600 meetings". 2600 refuses to recognize these as 2600 meetings, but they are held and worth finding. Boston 2600 does not currently have a "brand X" meeting of this sort.
